WEBThe Atlantic remains very much peripheral to the world on Ptolemaic mappaemundi. Ptolemy provided instructions for making world maps, and cosmographers and artists followed them as they created editions of Ptolemy’s Geography, known as Cosmographia or Geographia in Renaissance Europe.
