True gem of Middle Ages architectural castle built, destroyed, rebuilt, destroyed again and again and in the end left like it is. Very romantic place although may be quite touristy in the pic season. Full review by mden001

A decent tourist attraction but you will be disappointed if you have been to Rome or London. Limited interior areas and parking, as of today is terrible. Go to city center and hike up. Full review by Jresvcs

Hello, yes, dogs are allowed to walk in the castle square and garden, of course always on a leash. However, dogs are not allowed inside the castle rooms. We took turns waiting outside with the dog while the others visited the interior of the castle rooms. You definitely have to see the castle. It is one of the most beautiful castles I have ever seen.

We didn't do the guided tour so I'm not sure. Perhaps you can without flash. Enjoy Heidelberg... it was nicer than we expected.
