Hong Kong Science Museum is free on Wednesdays, or about hkd20-30 on other days. Hong Kong Museum of History is free on all days, unless you want the special exhibition, then you may have to pay. These two museums are situated close to each other so it makes sense to visit them both in a day. I would suggest a minimum of 3 hours at each museum. Hong Kong Science Museum is the better place for kids for sure, even adults will learn a few things here.

Hi, there is no snack or restaurant area. There is a small seating area with some vending machines for drinks and small snacks. I think its ok if you take some food with you. We had to feed our toddler with snacks and drinks. There is a restaurant/food place in the Hong Kong history museum directly opposite the entrance.
Q:
in the website it says, entrance is free on wednesday. does it apply to tourist?
A:
Yes, Wednesday is free. That's a very good reason to avoid visiting on that day, as it will be even more crowded than usual.
