Nick Saban did not seem to make many mistakes with Alabama football. But early in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft, the Crimson Tide legend admitted one he made on the recruiting trail.

Nick Saban was the architect of one of the greatest dynasties in college football history during his time at Alabama, winning six national championships from 2007-2023. He recruited and developed some of the best football players of this generation,

The now Alabama tight end has spent each of the last two seasons with the Trojans in which he has a combined 20 receptions for 276 yards and three touchdowns. Dalton is also coming off a career-year at Troy in which he hauled in 15 receptions for 188 yards and three touchdowns, each of which were career-high's.

Jay Lindsey was the only scholarship tight end available for Alabama at the end of spring joined by preferred walk-ons Jayden Hobson and Peter Knudson.
