With the news that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is to write the new James Bond film, Amazon is sending its strongest message yet to the cinema-going public about its plans for the series. And that plan is: we’re not giving you ingrates the slightest reason to whinge about this thing until it’s actually out.

The most recent Bond film, 2021's No Time to Die, was written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, Cary Joji Fukunaga and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
