LIVIGNO, Italy — Even if she’s not outwardly courting controversy, it always seems to find her. Eileen Gu is 22 years old, competing in her second Olympic Games, so often at the center of a storm.

Controversial Olympic skier Eileen Gu had her dorm room robbed and was assaulted on the street while a student at Stanford. That’s according to an interview Gu gave to The Athletic that was published Tuesday.

Gu has won two silver medals in Milan this month.

The 22-year-old currently has five Olympic medals—the most of any women’s freestyle skier ever—following her Big Air podium appearance on Monday, Feb. 16.

Eileen Gu won silver in the freeski big air event at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics, as she was unable to defend her gold from the 2022 Beijing Games.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Gu has a net worth of $50 million. While Gu is one of the biggest names in free skiing, most of her income comes from other sources outside of her sport. According to The Athleticand Forbes, Gu made $23 million in earnings last year, with just over $100,000 of that coming from skiing.
