Super Bowl LIX opened with a bang. Before the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles hit the field at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday (Feb. 9), Lady Gaga performed her Top Gun tune “Hold My Hand” surrounded by rapt revelers on the city’s infamous Bourbon Street.

Jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard will headline a slate of New Orleans and Louisiana musicians playing a role Sunday (Feb. 9) in the Super Bowl LIX pregame festivities.

Harry Connick, Jr., was accompanied by the Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band to perform a rousing rendition of “Go to the Mardi Gras.” The song was first released by Professor Longhair in 1949. New Orleans will kick off the annual celebration in just a few weeks on March 4.
