The Utah Jazz raised eyebrows when they selected Ace Bailey with the fifth overall pick of the 2025 NBA Draft, considering he never had a pre-draft workout or interview with them.
[Trading Markkanen] is not Utah’s intention, sources told ESPN. It would be too much to describe Markkanen as untouchable, but the Jazz still project the All-Star forward as a key player in their future core.
During his last season for Philadelphia, Grimes averaged 14.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists on 46.7% shooting from the field and 38.5% from three-point range. A standout amid the up-and-down status of Joel Embiid, with it remaining a bit shocking to see him still out on the open market this late into the NBA summer.

That year, he drafted the NBA’s all-time assist and steal leader, John Stockton; Layden drafted the league’s third-place all-time scorer, Karl Malone, the very next year.
For the Utah Jazz, they've already gotten their feet wet within the summer league action, thanks to their three preliminary games in the Salt Lake City Summer League, but they'll have a whole new slate ahead of them in Vegas–– starting off with the Charlotte Hornets and fourth-overall pick Kon Knueppel on Friday.
