The battle between LSU and the SEC has officially reached another level. What began as a dispute over whether former NFL players could return to college football has now turned into a legal fight that could potentially determine whether LSU remains a member of the SEC .
The uproar and court appearances between LSU and the SEC stem primarily from LSU football coach Lane Kiffin attempting to add former NFL rookies Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris to the roster. Wright and Harris were a part of a lawsuit that resulted in a temporary injunction that allows the players to return to college to play a fifth year.
Leaders of the Southeastern Conference will meet Thursday to discuss whether to take the extraordinary step of kicking LSU out of the league in the wake of an ugly feud over whether players who spent time in the NFL should be allowed back on the team's roster this season.
