The company moved most of its manufacturing to Vietnam from China to avoid tariffs. But the unpredictability of President Trump’s plans has thrown Nintendo for a loop.

Japanese entertainment giants Nintendo Co. and Sony Group Corp. are likely to raise prices on their game consoles in response to US tariffs, according to the latest research from Bloomberg Intelligence.

When the news first broke, Nintendo released a statement that read, "Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged."
