A transformer short caused a two-hour delay at the Florida State Seminoles football and SMU game, forcing teams to play without key technology.
In a game that started nearly 2 hours late because of a power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium, FSU hung with No. 19 SMU before falling 27-24 on a Mustangs field goal with 21 seconds to play.
Florida State and SMU will have to wait at least an hour longer than expected to start their seasons.
