Anthony Davis has been assigned to the Texas Legends, the Dallas Mavericks' G League affiliate, but despite initial speculation, he will not be playing in the NBA’s developmental league. Instead, this move is a standard part of his rehabilitation as he recovers from a left adductor strain.

The Mavs acquired Davis from the Lakers in the Luka Doncic trade. Dallas also landed Max Christie and a future first-round pick. AD was the prized acquisition in giving up Doncic, however. Yet, Davis has appeared in just over 30 minutes of a game with the Mavs, as he suffered an injury in his first contest with the team.
