Otis Davis, the Olympic champion in the 400 meters and 4x400 relay at the 1960 Olympics in Rome, has died at 92, the University of Oregon announced Monday.

Davis won gold in the 400-meter final and as the anchor in the 4x400-meter relay in the 1960 Olympics in Rome.

Olympian Otis Davis is one of five Oregon track and field icons whose likeness was put on the 10-story tower at Hayward Field when it opened in 2020.
