After weeks of controversy surrounding LSU’s new football coach and Jayden Daniels’ old jersey number, one thing still remains:
Ohio State ranked No. 1 for the ninth time after receiving 40 first-place votes. Oregon earned its highest preseason ranking of all time, at No. 2 with 14 first-place votes. Georgia landed in the preseason top five for the ninth consecutive year at No. 3. No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 5 Texas rounded out the top five.
Georgia, Notre Dame, Texas and Indiana each moved up one spot with Oregon going from No 2 to No 6 following a 34-27 win over Boise State as a 25.5-point favorite.
