Several people were killed and dozens more were injured, Canadian officials said, after strong winds fanned a grass fire at a military base in Alberta on Saturday.

The fire that killed four members of the Canadian military and injured dozens of others on Saturday spread with alarming speed, accounts suggest.

Carney made a statement at midday Sunday about what he described as a "violent, fast-moving fire" that left dozens wounded.
