“It means he most likely will,” coach Kyle Shanahan said of Jones starting, via David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com. “We’ll see how Brock does tomorrow. But yeah, Mac’s much better than he was last week, and Brock is doing better than he did last week.”
The 49ers improved to 4-1 with an overtime win in Week 5 and backup quarterback Mac Jones appears ready to take the field again on Sunday.

Mac Jones is off the injury report; Another receiver is a DNP
Ricky Pearsall was once again a DNP as he continues to recover from a knee injury. Pearsall wasn’t the only receiver who didn’t practice. Marquez Valdes-Scantling was a new addition to the injury report. He has a calf injury. Per Matt Maiocco, Valdes-Scantling will miss a couple of weeks.
After Sunday's game, Jones said playing through injuries is in the team's DNA. But you have to wonder how long that DNA is sustainable.
Brandon McManus, K, GB (quad) was downgraded to questionable after feeling "a tug" in his quad Wednesday and being limited for the rest of the week and is inactive for Sunday's game. Mark McNamee was signed from the practice roster to handle kicking duties, but fantasy managers have an entire waiver wire of safer options.
