A Powerball ticket was sold for Wednesday’s lottery drawing at a convenience store in Cumberland County. The winner bought the third-prize ticket at Quick Plus Mini Mart on East Commerce Street in Bridgeton, lottery officials said. The ticket matched four numbers plus the Powerball.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance of matching five numbers (but not the Powerball) and winning a second prize of at least $1 million.

For the second time in less than a month, the Mega Millions jackpot has been won. On Tuesday, a player in New Jersey matched all five white numbers and the gold Mega ball to win a $90 million jackpot. The winner has the choice of receiving the money as an annuity or to take the cash option, which is worth an estimated $41.9 million.
