Ben Simmons’ time with the Brooklyn Nets appears to be over. The No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft was not with the Nets for their game Friday night against the Miami Heat as the sides work toward a buyout of his contract.

The Brooklyn Nets will host the Miami Heat Friday night at Barclays Center. While league sources have told ClutchPoints the Nets and Ben Simmons will negotiate a buyout, the three-time All-Star is not on the team's status report for the matchup.

Unfortunately, then, that immediately disqualifies the following teams: Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Denver Nuggets. The Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks are also very close to the first apron and could struggle to sign him as well.
