San Diego County faces extreme heat warnings and record-breaking temperatures following a period of moisture from now Post-Tropical Cyclone Marie, with a cooldown back to normal temperatures expected over the weekend.

Los Angeles County is the focus of an extreme heat warning released at 10:49 a.m. on Tuesday by the National Weather Service.

For “considerable or catastrophic” hazards, emergency alerts will be sent to all enabled mobile phones in the area.
