NFL free agency officially opens on Monday, with teams allowed to begin negotiating with players on expiring contracts during the legal tampering period, which starts on March 10 at 9 a.m. PT. The Seattle Seahawks are entering Monday with massive needs after completely flipping its roster on its head earlier this week.

Roster transactions were expected from the Seahawks, given their salary situation. Before the moves, Seattle had one of the worst cap situations in the league as one of the few non-playoff teams already over the limit. The Seahawks now have roughly $16.4 million of cap space to use in the 2025 offseason.

Earlier in the week the Seahawks freed up cap space, and now they’re using it to retain one of their key free agents.
