Ford "is aware of 123 warranty claims alleging a loss of brake fluid on these vehicles; however, there were no reports of an inoperative brake fluid level sensor," that document said.

Ford is recalling 500,000 vehicles over an issue that can cause two different car models to leak brake fluid, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The company is recalling half a million vehicles due to an issue that could affect drivers' ability to brake effectively and reliably.

The safety boffins at the Volkswagen Group started looking into this problem at the beginning of 2024, following a warning message in which a Q8 e-tron indicated a low brake level fluid.

Ford has issued over 100 recalls this year, accounting for 39% of all recalls recorded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
