KERRVILLE, Texas — While mourning those lost to the floods, many are also grieving the destruction of their communities in Kerr County. Among them: small business owners who say they are struggling to rebuild.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump met with local, state and federal officials and first responders who are navigating the aftermath of flash floods that devastated the Central Texas community in Kerrville.

If you would like to volunteer to help with flood recovery, the city said to register in advance online. Registered volunteers are asked to come to Tivy Antler Stadium, located at 1310 Sydney Baker Street in Kerrville. Check-in starts at 8 a.m.

"Due to the incoming threatening weather, all volunteers should vacate the river area, and MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND for their safety," Kerr County said on Facebook. "Only teams working under the direction of Kerr County Emergency Operations Center Unified Command are permitted in the response zone."
