Michigan’s football program has a new headliner in its 2026 recruiting class. Mineral (Va.) Louisa County five-star running back Savion Hiter committed to Michigan on Tuesday, announcing his decision in a live video on social media.

Ohio State has one running back commitment, four-star Favour Akih, in the class as it stands. And with momentum not on the Buckeyes’ side headed into Hiter’s decision, it certainly appears that Akih might be the only running back in coach Carlos Locklyn’s class.
