The Los Angeles Dodgers had their season-best winning streak snapped at six games despite another encouraging start from Roki Sasaki. He exited with a slim lead but the Philadelphia Phillies mounted their comeback against Tanner Scott in the eighth inning.
After continuing to roll to open the series against the Phillies yesterday, the Dodgers played another close one with them today. Roki Sasaki continued to progress, but Tanner Scott finally blew a game late and the Dodgers couldn’t mount a comeback in a 4-3 loss.
Not much went right for the Phillies on Sunday. Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto carved up their offense. Andrew Painter turned in the shortest start of his major league career. And J.T. Realmuto left the game in the fourth inning with a bruised left wrist after getting hit by a 97.
