One of last season's biggest breakout stars was flamethrower Garrett Crochet. The 25-year-old made his debut as a starting pitcher after serving as a bullpen arm up up until that point of his career.

Crochet was a pretty good reliever in his first full season in 2021, but his stuff was already down from his 2020 debut. He then underwent Tommy John in 2022 and dealt with shoulder issues while trying to come back in 2023.

Coming off a year in which they went 41-121 and set the Modern Era record for losses, the White Sox continued to sell off assets heading into 2025, with USA Today thinking they failed to get enough of a return.

It's just a few weeks into spring training, but newly acquired ace Garrett Crochet is already advocating for a contract extension with the Boston Red Sox.

They're focused on building the farm system, but their big-league roster doesn't look better than last year's.
