Cydney Wallace is a mother of four and sits on the board of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs. Wallace will represent the Chinatown, Bridgeport, Back of the Yards, and Gage Park neighborhoods on the 21-member partly-elected school board.

Wallace is a Black Jewish activist and a CPS parent. Her appointment comes two months after Mayor Brandon Johnson named his other appointees.

Johnson is naming CPS parent Cydney Wallace to represent parts of five neighborhoods on the partly elected, partly appointed school board.

Any two members of the City Council could use a parliamentary maneuver on Wednesday to delay a final vote on the mayor's plan, without having to give a reason.
