The Piano Lesson, the Malcolm Washington-directed film adaptation of August Wilson’s play starring Danielle Deadwyler and John David Washington, scored the most film nominations this year with 14 nods. It won two awards in non-televised ceremonies earlier this week.

Some of the biggest stars, including Chloe Bailey, Janelle James and Kerry Washington, hit the red carpet for the 56th NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California.
