Catholic churches across the region will pay tribute to Pope Francis on Saturday, the day of his funeral, with the symbolic ringing of the bells.

As tens of thousands of Catholics waited in hourslong lines to pay their respects to Pope Francis, many were debating the direction of the church.

Some people said the pope's compassion inspired them. Others said he was too liberal or that no pope would affect how they think about their Catholicism.
