A New Mexico court on Monday blocked the release of police bodycam video and other images that show the bodies of Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, after they died and were discovered by Santa Fe County officials.

New Mexico medical investigators estimated Arakawa died Feb. 11, but she appeared to have contacted the clinic the next day, a sheriff's official said.

A representative of the Hackman estate had sued to keep the presumably grizzly photos — shot after the actor had been dead for a week, and Arakawa for two weeks — out of the public
