Washington star quarterback Jayden Daniels, who missed the loss on Monday night to the Kansas City Chiefs because of a hamstring injury, is expected to practice in some capacity on Wednesday, Commanders coach Dan Quinn said on Tuesday.

Of course, injuries can be blamed for many of the struggles. Daniels has already missed three games, including Week 8, and now NFL insider Adam Schefter isn't sure the quarterback will be back for Week 9 either.

"We're in control of our destiny," linebacker Wagner said to Patra. "The plays [that] are happening are things that we can change and plays that we can make. Every game is big. You don't want to dig yourself in a deeper hole."

The parallels between Daniels and Griffin are hard to ignore: both were dual threats, were Heisman Trophy winners, both were No. 2 overall picks, both won Offensive Rookie of the Year and both led Washington to a surprise playoff berth in year one.
