Scientists didn't expect that stars would be able to still form in the dwarf galaxy known as Leo P, which the James Webb Telescope recently imaged.

Leo P is a rare, untouched galaxy that has remained unchanged for billions of years. Unlike many galaxies that merged and evolved, Leo P has stayed isolated.

The James Webb telescope used a near-infrared camera to capture an image of the Leo P dwarf galaxy which is located in the Leo constellation.
