Former LSU coach Nick Saban would consider a return to Baton Rouge “if they came up with a package,” ESPN College Insider Paul Finebaum says. Saban won the first of his seven national championships at LSU before winning six more at SEC rival Alabama.
Alabama football will be facing an LSU team on Nov. 8 ( 6:30 p.m. CT, ABC) that has undergone a lot of changes in recent days. The Tigers (5-3, 2-3 SEC) have a new head coach after Brian Kelly's dismissal on Sunday, but they will not have a new starting quarterback.
Garrett Nussmeier will remain LSU's starting quarterback following the dismissal of head coach Brian Kelly. Interim coach Frank Wilson said he's sticking with Nussmeier for the Tigers' next game against No. 4 Alabama. Backup Michael Van Buren Jr. could be a situational option, though:
Tyree's mother, Barbara, met Kelly and his wife Paqui a few times over the years and only had nice things to say about the LSU coach and his wife. "They are amazing people," Barbara said. "They're very nice people."
Alabama football could have two major contributors back at wide receiver for the LSU game. According to Kalen DeBoer, Lotzeir Brooks and Isaiah Horton are moving in the right direction after recent injuries. DeBoer was asked about their statuses on the SEC’s weekly media teleconference Wednesday.
Patrick Bet-David believes Chauncey Billups' Klutch Sports outfit was no coincidence.
Among the names on his list of potential candidates, two stand out as truly crazy hires for LSU: national championship-winning coaches Jimbo Fisher and Dabo Swinney. Hiring either would be a headline-grabbing move that could immediately energize the program.” Full story here.
