Suhey played 10 seasons for the Bears and helped pave the way for Walter Payton to become the NFL’s career leading rusher at the time.

As we excitedly look forward to the Chicago Bears visit to the Carolina Panthers this Sunday for opening weekend, we are also saddened by the loss of one of the great blue-collar '85 Bears, Matt Suhey. Suhey scored the first touchdown in Super Bowl XX, giving the Bears a lead they would never surrender.
