The founders of Team Cherry, Ari Gibson and William Pellen, have finally explained why Hollow Knight: Silksong needed seven years of development. At last, Silksong has a release date, and it’s imminent: September 4, 2025, for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC.

A fter six long years of waiting, Silksong finally has a release date—as announced on Team Cherry's YouTube channel. It's my pleasure to inform you that Silksong will finally be arriving to PC on September 4, marking an end to years of waiting for the Hollow Knight sequel and, tragically, over half a decade of top-tier Silkposting.

The new Hollow Knight Silksong platformer took over six years to make simply because Team Cherry felt it needed all that time to make it their best game.
