Tropical Storm Fernand on Sunday is moving north-northeast in the open Atlantic Ocean and is expected to continue on this path for a day or two before it turns northeast, the National Hurricane Center said.

Tropical Storm Fernand has formed in the tropical Atlantic Ocean, but the season's sixth named storm is not forecast to make landfall before dying out.

Tropical Storm Fernand is strengthening in the open Atlantic Ocean well east of Bermuda. It had maximum sustained winds of 50 mph late Sunday and was moving north-northeast at 13 mph.
