A new wildfire was reported today at 3:04 p.m. in Los Angeles County, California. Ronnie Fire has been burning on private land. At this time, the containment status is unknown and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.

The wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles earlier this year — burning entire neighborhoods to the ground, straining firefighting resources and forcing tens of thousands of people to flee their homes — may have led to hundreds more deaths than were recorded,

The King Fire ignited around 70 miles northwest of Los Angeles on Thursday morning and quickly grew to nearly 500 acres.

King Fire initially started 1:04 a.m. Aug. 14 in Los Angeles County, California. After being active for six days, it has burned 591.2 acres. By Wednesday morning, the fire has been fully contained. However, the cause is still under investigation.
