According to Benjamin Allbright of IHeartRadio in Denver, Stafford did not want to go to the Steelers. In fact, the Steelers had called, and Stafford expressed he did not want to join their teams.

The Steelers may be the biggest winners from Matthew Stafford staying with the Rams, avoiding the risk of overpaying an aging QB.
