Alphabet stock jumped to a record high Friday afternoon after a report said Apple is exploring using Google’s Gemini to run the highly anticipated Siri voice assistant. Bloomberg reported that the iPhone maker has approached Google to look into possibly building a custom artificial-intelligence model that would be the foundation of the long-awaited AI-powered Siri.

Apple (AAPL) commanded a $3.38 trillion market capitalization and a price-to-earnings ratio of 34.6 times as of the end of last week. The iPhone supplier is the only member of the Magnificent Seven without an in-house artificial intelligence offering.

Apple is in early talks with Google to use Gemini for a new version of Siri, part of a broader effort to catch up in AI after delays.
