Heavy rainfall, flooding and damaging winds are possible in Houston on Saturday as another storm system moves through. Here's what to expect.
More than 100,000 homes and businesses in the Houston area lost electricity early Saturday morning as the region was struck by strong overnight thunderstorms. Another wave of rainfall was in the forecast for later Saturday, starting in the afternoon, along with wind gusts of up to 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

City, county crews prepare for expected heavy rain and possible street flooding across Houston area
The City of Houston’s Office of Emergency Management told KHOU 11 that Houston Public Works crews are staging barricades at 49 flood-prone locations across the city. At Memorial Drive and Waugh Drive, barricades are already in place in case they are needed.
Aggressive thunderstorms have wreaked havoc in Houston, with CenterPoint Energy reporting almost 150K power outages.
Houston faces showers, flash flood risk over the weekend, and an elevated wildfire threat due to dry conditions.
