After more than six months of debate and negotiations, the so-called "One Big, Beautiful Bill Act" has been passed by Congress, and will land on President Trump’s desk soon, but the president’s signature spending bill faced several big hurdles before Republicans could get the votes needed to approve it.

The House of Representatives approved the fiscal year 2026 federal budget bill, commonly referred to as "one big, beautiful bill," with a 218 to 214 vote on Thursday afternoon.
