Have you visited the squirrel monkeys this summer at their summer habitat on Monkey Island in the Children’s Zoo? The Guianan (common) squirrel monkeys at the zoo are endemic to forests in northern South America. Their tails are non-prehensile, meaning they can’t be used to grab things but are instead used for balance. With their large brain to body-size ratio, they are considered to be very intelligent.
