The Georgian National Ballet was founded in 1945 by Iliko Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili. Since its birth, the company has performed extensively across the world at venues like La Scala, Madison Square Gardens and the Royal Albert Hall. Contrary to what the company's name suggests, the Georgian National Ballet is not a traditional ballet company... but a traditional Georgian folklore dancing company.
