Freedom Friday for this Red-Shouldered Hawk! This bird was found with severe feather damage, with his entire body covered in an unknown toxic substance. Upon intake, it was discovered he was also shot with a pellet. Luckily, the pellet was superficial, and easily removed without further damage. After a warm bath and detox, the hawk spent three months in care to put healthy oils back into the feathers and become water-proof once again. He was returned back into his territory with a second chance
